As an extension of the rebab courses we have been running for several years, rebab-making workshops have begun to be organised with a focus on the making of the instrument itself. Within this framework, a rebab-making workshop will be held in Ankara on 2–6 September 2026.
Date: 2–6 September 2026
Venue: Ankara Castle, Ankara
The aim of the workshop is for each participant to build their own rebab by experiencing every stage from beginning to end. In this way, participants gain technical knowledge and experience of the instrument’s making process and, by coming to know the rebab more closely, deepen their relationship with it.
- The workshop will be led by Erşan Çırak, with support from Emre Başaran.
- Materials and tools will be provided by the workshop organisation.
- Participation is limited to 12 people.

- 09:00-10:00: Breakfast
- 10:00-13:00: Work
- 13:00-14:00: Lunch
- 14:00-17:00: Work
